Frequently Asked Questions
Plain answers on how Sensunova works — membership, ratings and listing your practice.
About Sensunova
What is Sensunova?
Sensunova is a South African directory of professional massage therapists, day spas and salons. Each listing shows where the therapist works, when they're open, which massages they offer and their star ratings from members who booked them, so you can choose in your own time and send a booking request straight to the therapist.
Is it free to browse?
Yes. Browsing costs nothing. Search by province, city or suburb, or start from a quick pick: Open tonight, Open Saturday, Open Sunday, Home visits or Shower on site. Reading ratings and sending a booking request are free too. Rating a therapist you booked needs a free account, and you only pay if you join Nova, our paid membership, which is free until .
Is Sensunova only for adults?
No. Sensunova is open to everyone. Only the tantric massage section is restricted to adults 18 and over: when you enter it, you're asked to confirm that you're 18 or older, and a cookie remembers that for 30 days. It's a declaration, not an identity check.

Membership
What membership options are there?
You can use Sensunova in three ways. As a visitor you need no account and pay nothing: browse every listing, read ratings and send booking requests. A free account adds one thing: rating therapists you booked through it, one rating per therapist. Nova, our paid membership, includes everything a free account gets, plus four features: see prices and sort by price, since every listing shows the therapist's rate to Nova members; advanced filters that combine availability, massage style, therapist gender, home visits, shower on site and rating in one search; Available now, to see which therapists can take you right now; and favourites and alerts, to save therapists and get an email when a favourite is available now or a new therapist lists in a province you choose. Nova is free until .
How do I sign up or sign in?
Enter your email address on the sign-in page and we'll email you a link. Open it and press the button to sign in: there's no password to remember. The first time, the same link creates your free account.
What happens when free Nova ends?
Nova is free until . No card needed. We'll tell you the price before then; nothing is charged automatically. If you don't join, your account carries on as a free account, and you can still rate therapists you booked through it.
How do I update or remove my details?
Your account page shows your favourites, alerts, booking requests and the therapists you can rate. You can change your alerts there, and delete your account at any time with Delete my account on the same page. For anything else, email hello@sensunova.co.za and we'll sort it out.

Ratings
What is a rating?
A rating is stars and tags, nothing else. You give 1 to 5 stars on six criteria — Getting there (skipped for home visits), The room, Professionalism, Care and attention, Technique and Overall. Only Overall is required. You can also tick any of these tags: Punctual · Clean, tidy room · Easy to find · Easy parking · Firm pressure · Gentle pressure · Listened to what I wanted · Very relaxing · Good value · Would book again. The tags are the same for every listing. There's no comment box, so every rating reads the same way.
What does a therapist's profile show?
The overall average with a breakdown of how many ratings gave five, four, three, two and one stars; the average for each of the six criteria; and a count for each tag that's been ticked — for example, Would book again ×2. Anyone can see this, no account needed.
How do I know the ratings are real?
Only registered members can rate a therapist, and only one they booked through their Sensunova account — one rating per therapist. Every rating on the site comes from one of those bookings, with no exceptions. A new therapist shows as New — not yet rated until their first ratings come in.
Are ratings anonymous?
Yes. Your name is never shown. New ratings are published in batches of three, so no single client's score is shown on its own. Therapists see their scores the same way everyone else does.
Why rate a therapist?
Your stars and tags help the next person choose. Rating is optional, and only registered members who booked the therapist through Sensunova can rate, one rating per therapist.
How do I rate a therapist?
Sign in, then send your booking request from the therapist's profile while you're signed in. From the day after the date you booked for, the therapist is listed under Rate your therapist on your account page. Give 1 to 5 stars on each criterion that applied and tick any tags that fit. There's nothing to type.
