What Sensunova is — and isn't

Sensunova is a directory. Independent massage therapists, day spas and salons pay a monthly fee to be listed (free until 30 November); we publish their profiles, show ratings from registered members who booked them through Sensunova, and pass booking requests on. Each practice is its own business. It sets its own prices and hours, and any treatment you book is an arrangement between you and the therapist. Nobody from Sensunova visits, tests or rates a therapist.

Using the directory

Use the site to find a therapist, compare ratings and request bookings. Don't scrape the directory, harvest therapists' details for marketing, post content that is unlawful or abusive, or misrepresent who you are. Therapists listed here offer professional massage services — treat them, and their time, with respect.

Accounts

Anyone can browse, read ratings and send booking requests without an account. An account is free: you sign in with a link we email you, and the first link creates your account. Because the link is the key, keep your email account to yourself; anyone who can open your email can sign in as you.

An account is for one person. Rate only visits you made yourself. You can delete your account at any time from your account page; what that deletes and what stays is set out in our privacy statement. We may close an account that breaks these terms.

Nova and the launch offer

Nova is our paid membership: prices and sorting by price, advanced filters, Available now, and favourites with alerts. Our launch offer runs until 30 November: every account created by then has Nova free until that date, the same date for everyone. No card needed. We'll tell you the price before then; nothing is charged automatically.

When the launch offer ends, Nova simply switches off and your account carries on as a free account, unless you choose to join. We may end the launch offer for new accounts sooner; an account that already has free Nova keeps it until the date shown on its account page.

Professional massage only

Sensunova lists professional massage and nothing else. Sexual services may not be offered, advertised or asked for through the directory, by therapists or by clients. What happens at an appointment is between you and the therapist — Sensunova isn't a party to it.

The tantric section (18+)

The directory is open to everyone. The tantric massage section — every page under sensunova.co.za/tantric/ — is restricted to adults 18 and over, and you need to confirm your age before you enter it. Confirming is your declaration that you're 18 or older, not an identity check; if you're under 18, don't enter the section. Tantric listings follow the same rules as every other listing, including professional massage only, as set out above.

Ratings

Only registered members can rate a therapist, and only one they booked through their Sensunova account — one rating per therapist. There are no exceptions. A new therapist shows as New — not yet rated until their first ratings come in.

A rating is stars and tags, nothing else: one to five stars on up to six criteria — getting there (skipped for home visits), the room, professionalism, care and attention, technique and overall, with only overall required — plus any tags ticked from a fixed list that's the same for every listing. Ratings are anonymous — your name is never shown, and they publish in batches of three so a therapist can't tell who rated what. The details are on How ratings work.

Because every rating is tied to a booking made through a member's own Sensunova account, each one comes from someone who booked that therapist.

For listed therapists

The listing agreement is the one on the list your practice page: cancel with 30 days' notice; treatments are given on a professional massage table; and professional massage only, as set out above. You're responsible for the accuracy of your profile and for holding whatever qualifications and permissions your work requires. We may remove listings that break these terms.

Listing is free until 30 November: every listing approved while our launch offer runs is free until that date. After any free period, the monthly plan on the list your practice page applies. Nothing is charged automatically; we'll contact you about paying before any fee is due.

You manage your listing from your dashboard, signing in with the email address on your listing. Changes you save there go live straight away.

Liability

We work hard to keep the directory accurate and the ratings honest, but we can't guarantee any particular massage, therapist or outcome. To the extent South African law allows, Sensunova isn't liable for what happens during an appointment arranged through the directory.

The legal bits

These terms are governed by South African law. If we change them, the new version appears here with a new date, and the change applies from that date forward. Personal information is handled as described in our privacy statement.
